From sourcing nature's purest ingredients to our ethical practices, we put our soul into every product. We believe in staying true to our culture as we preserve this

Emberacing Our Soil

As a brand, we delve into ancient Indian wisdom and revive its powerful knowledge flowing through the ages. We trust and disseminate ayurvedic traditions, relying on them to create therapeutic incense sticks for a blissful experience.

Returning to the Source

The incense stick industry is highly dependent on the environment. At HMS, our sustainable approach includes eco-friendly, charcoal-free products that significantly diminish air pollution. By harvesting the remains of gums, resins and barks, we prioritise optimal waste management.

Reviving the Lost Arts

HMS's journey is deeply connected to the country's indigenous economy. Currently, 50 artisans work full-time in dough-making, quality testing and packaging. We passionately collaborate with local businesses, enabling them to expand the scope of their operations and innovations. By sourcing through small vendors and interweaving their story into our products, we strive to position traditional artists and domestic suppliers on the global map.

Standing by our Women

HMS encourages self-reliance and financial independence. We have a growing community of more than 500 women from across states, working from their homes, hand-rolling incense sticks during their free time for added income. Our free training sessions and provision of hand-rolling kits have opened many economic opportunities for them to pursue.

Crafting a Devine Experience

HMS incense sticks cater to a niche clientele, offering a very distinct creation that attempts to infuse surroundings with tranquillity. We foster treasured relationships with temples, ashrams, trusts and international yoga schools. It isn’t about corporatisation. It is about connecting to your soul.

Your Companion is Spirituality

Let us travel through time and peek inside 19th-century Pune

The Humble Beginnings

In 1860, brothers Haridas and Madhavdas Sugandhi started an incense manufacturing business in the Poona’s local market. What made their venture different was a simple departure from the norm. Today, it is family-owned by their great-grandsons, Mr. Nandkumar and Anil Sugandhi.

Handcrafted with Reverence

HMS utilizes 100% freshly harvested ingredients to make handmade temple-grade incense. This meant saying no machine-made charcoal sticks dipped in perfume.

Brimming with Soul

Together, they began an enduring tradition of meticulously handcrafting each product, infusing them with a heartfelt admiration for ancient Indian know-how and our indigenous skill pool.

The Best in Class

Our premium range of products is delicately prepared with bamboo, herbs, spices, resins and rare essential oils. The result is more than merchandise. When you light an HMS incense stick, you are promised a transcendental experience that aids one’s quest for peace and divinity.

Our Special Touch

Ethical business practices and superior sourcing is of central importance. We produce plastic-free, plant-based incense tailored for meditative practices and air purification. Instead of wood and commercial perfume, we use bamboo for its unique regenerative quality and rare natural ingredients for its therapeutic benefits. Our closely-knit family consists of an ever-growing network of artisans who we not only employ in varying capacities but actively mentor to help achieve self-employment. As an organization, we profoundly value the growth of the local enterprise. For that reason, we are plan to expand our hand-rolling units across the country and bring in more and more people in the conversion process of rolling our dough onto sticks. By re-energizing traditional underutilized factories, we aim to provide employment to thousands who have lost their livelihood after machines took over.

The Path For Tomorrow

At HMS, the future is about conceptualizing and creating the finest handcrafted products that add value to the lives of our patrons and every person involved in the manufacturing process. We look forward to delivering unique yet traditional experiences for our clients across the globe while back home, actively collaborating with manufacturers and becoming a propellor for their growth. We dream of transforming traditional household objects into a luxury market that celebrates heritage and creativity.
